VELO LOVE: one bike, one epic journey

Danny Bent left his home, family and job as a junior school teacher in July 2009 to pursue a 20 year dream. A dream to cycle round the world raising as much money for charity as possible.

He is travelling 15,000km by bicycle to southern india where he will work in a slum in Bangalore and a village school in Chembakolli as a teacher.

He has been welcomed into strangers homes, held at gunpoint until he drank a vodka, chased by wild dogs, propositioned by prostitutes in Kiev, has hung out with hippies, wept at Auschwitz, danced and sung with hardcore football fans, seen the consequences of war, spent a sleepless night thinking he was being attacked under an apple tree, grown a beard, and he’s only just left Europe!!!

Russia, Kazakstan, Uxbekistan, Kyrygsztan, China, Tibet, Nepal and India await the arrival of Danny’s Velo Love. By doing this trip Danny is raising money for Action Aid, a charity dedicated to ending extreme poverty, poverty that kills 28 children every minute. The charity supports the schools he will be working in and Danny is going to report back on how the money is being used.
